Why commission a piece
Store furniture is built to average rooms. A commissioned piece starts from yours: the alcove it has to fit, the people who sit at it, the things it has to hold.
It is also a chance to match wood and finish to cabinetry or built-ins elsewhere in the house, so the rooms feel like they belong together.
What to send with a request
- Where the piece will live, with a photo of the spot
- The size it has to be, or the size it cannot exceed
- How it gets used day to day
- Wood or finish you are drawn to, if any
